South Africa 2024
On the second day of our trip to Cape Town, South Africa, we will start by immersing ourselves in the vibrant and culturally rich neighborhood of Bo-Kaap.
Our journey continues with a visit to the thought-provoking Slave Lodge Museum, where we'll gain insight into the country's history of slavery. We'll then explore District 6, a neighborhood that tells a powerful story of resilience. Finally, we'll head to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years.
On our Third day we will take a scenic drive tour to the most southwestern point of Africa: The Cape of Good Hope. Along the way, we will have an opportunity to shop at the roadside markets where you will be able to purchase unique handmade products from other African countries. We will visit Cape Point, The World of Birds, Boulders Beach where you can sit among a colony of penguins, and conclude our tour at the Cape of Good Hope for photographs and observation. Beach moments at Boulders beach are worth pictures.
On day 4, we will have a free day for you to enjoy Cape Town!
You really can’t overstate the case for visiting Cape Town. First, there’s the in-your-face beauty of a craggy mountain range that drops precipitously into a glittering sea, its flanks carpeted in greens and delicate florals. Then there’s the pristine white beaches lapped by – it must be said – a chilly Atlantic, their curves defined by giant granite boulders to bake on, and burbling mountain streams in dappled forests. And no visit is complete without at least one full day exploring some of the surrounding vine-carpeted valleys, their rich territory spawning not only award-winning wines but superb produce.
Yet Cape Town has a cool urban edge, too: excellent art galleries, hip bars, world-rated restaurants, and design-savvy shops. It's also home to many of Africa's innovative artists and designers, drawn by the city's innate beauty, and with MOCAA the city is now home to the biggest repository of contemporary African art. In short, this pulsating city will leave you hungry for more.
On the fifth day of our trip to Cape Town, South Africa, we will embark on an unforgettable journey through the renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route. As we explore this picturesque region, we will be immersed in the rich history and exquisite beauty of 148 wine farms that dot the vine-covered landscape. We will have the opportunity to indulge in the flavors of nearly 200 wine and grape producers, as we savor the world-class wines that South Africa is famous for. Get ready to delight your senses and create lasting memories on this remarkable wine adventure.
On our Sixth day, we will have a tailored-made tour to try local food with a local feel. We will experience South Africa, the rainbow nation, unlike anything else out there. The RAINBOW nation comes up with diverse racial groups that makes our cuisine special, a true tastes of Africa. Eat, drink, open your eyes and feel instantly connected to a vibrant continent. This is a pure authentic African experience!
On Day 7, we will go on safari in search of the Big Five at Aquila Private Game Reserve. Set in the pristine Southern Karoo against a backdrop of dramatic mountains, Aquila Private Game Reserve offers an exciting taste of real Africa, just two hours’ from Cape Town. We will stay fueled with a hearty buffet lunch and a glass of local bubbly. Dining takes place buffet style, where the chef presents a rich variety of authentic South African cuisine, together with a superb South African wine list.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to possibly view all of the Big 5 i.e. lions, elephants, buffalo, leopard & rhino as well as a host of other re-introduced game.
On Day 8, we will have a free day in Cape Town where there are plenty of exciting activities you can enjoy. You can start your day by exploring the vibrant shopping scene in the city, visit the bustling markets like Greenmarket Square or the trendy boutiques on Long Street to pick up some unique souvenirs and gifts.
Lastly, we will have our farewell dinner before headed back home!
